Daylily scapes are gradually popping up all over, but in the meantime I am totally enjoying my various iris plants. "Bewilderbeast" was one of my new purchases last fall and it didn't disappoint me. Definitely a keeper! In its first season it has proved to be a hardy grower, which I understand is not always the case for novelty flowers such as this. I like the size (36" tall) so even after high winds it doesn't flop over. The flower has an amazing fragrance, and finally -- could it be any prettier? It's an award-winner for obvious reasons. A large clump of Bewilderbeast should prove to be quite stunning in the future. Looking forward to that!
